The proclamation of a state of Emergency on June 25, 1975, represents one of the most consequential constitutional crises in post-independence India. This watershed moment—often termed ‘Constitution Murder Day’ by civil liberties advocates—marked the suspension of democratic norms, fundamental rights (Article 21), and parliamentary oversight for a 21-month period.
As per the instructions from the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, the Departments of Public Administration and Political Science has jointly organised an awareness programme on 25th June, 2025.
